BDO Japan’s science-based net-zero targets validated by SBTi

BDO Japan’s science-based net-zero targets validated by SBTi

We have had our near-term and long-term science-based emissions reduction targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) on July 24, 2025, as published on the SBTi Target Dashboard.

The SBTi is a global body enabling businesses to set ambitious emissions reduction targets in line with the latest climate science and the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C. Backed by the United Nations, its mission is to help companies worldwide achieve net-zero emissions before 2050.

BDO Japan's approved targets :

Near-Term Targets: BDO Japan Limited commits to reduce scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions 42% by FY2030 from a FY2022 base year, and to measure and reduce its scope 3 emissions.

Long-Term Targets: BDO Japan Limited commits to reach net-zero by FY2050. As part of this, it commits to reduce scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions 90% by FY2050 from a FY2022 base year.

Direct emissions reductions will be prioritized, and any residual emissions will be neutralized in line with SBTi criteria before achieving net-zero.
